Business Analyst – Retail – Order Management

Located in North West London, our client who are a leading UK retailer with a global presence are looking to onboard an experienced Business Analyst who has in depth knowledge of the retail industry. Alongside general experience in the retail space, you will be required to showcase vast experience in specific areas such as Order Management. Previous knowledge of Order Management systems such as IBM Sterling or TradeGecko etc. would be highly advantageous.

You will be working as part of a small team of Business Analysts who cover all types of projects across the business. This role will specifically focus on the Retail, E-Commerce and Distribution side of the department but circumstances may dictate a shift onto other projects when necessary.

The client is extremely keen to take a Business Analyst onboard who has a passion for their role and also the retail industry. In a fast moving environment like the retail industry, it is key that someone is able to hit the ground running and be able to liaise efficiently and effectively with stakeholders of all levels.

Role Responsibilities:

  • Manage the relationship with specific areas of the business
  • Work with the department heads and teams to provide assistance in reviewing business processes, system improvements
  • Manage escalation of support issues from the IT Help Desk, providing guidance on path to resolution
  • Reviewing Help Desk tickets to identify trends and make recommendations for improvement where appropriate
  • Manage change requests, projects and testing for the specified areas, following the agreed process consistently
  • Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to understand their business needs, formulate and complete end-to-end analysis
  • Understand the business processes and how they are aligned to system functionality
  • Conduct interviews/workshops with stakeholders to understand and document their requirements for new requests
  • Review and sign off the final specifications with the business stakeholders to ensure that all requirements meet the needs of the end user
  • Assess the impact of planned development on existing systems and processes, identifying risks and potential obstacles
  • Prepare business cases with stakeholders
  • Manage the requirements throughout the project lifecycle
  • Conduct user training when required
  • Prepare and perform system testing and assist User Acceptance Testing when required
  • Write user guides related to new solutions and support hand over documentation

Skills Required:

  • Several years experience in Business Analysis within retail
  • Good IT and operational awareness
  • Experience of working with third party suppliers
  • Ability to liaise with the business and technical IT resources (internal and external)
  • Logical and objective approach to analysis
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills
  • Experience of leading projects
  • Experience of managing project teams
  • Experience working with either Prince II or Agile methodology – desirable
