EDI Analyst required to join a leading client in Glasgow

Job purpose

Develop, support, administer and deliver WGS EDI solutions in line with business needs, utilising appropriate technical solutions and techniques to maintain efficiencies in transactional data and processes.

Key Responsibilities and success measures

* Responsible for coordinating and supporting EDI development requests, UAT cycles, live cut-over, post implementation support and root cause analysis
* Proactively design and develop core EDI modules and associated configuration to deliver a highly available and efficient global service
* Liaise with relevant business leaders to confirm business requirements and solution design, as well as providing support and training in the use of relevant applications and tools
* Liaise with trading partners and EDI targets (freight-forwarders, warehouses, customers) to confirm business requirements and solution design
* Provide end-to-end system support for WGS EDI (e.g., ensure support calls are closed according to service level targets, ensure system uptime meets agreed business targets, etc.)
* Develop required documentation (e.g. Message Implementation Guides, Testing templates, etc.) and adhere to internal processes and best practice methodologies
* Proactively share knowledge with other team members, updating and documenting procedures and solutions

Essential:

* Demonstrable experience using GXS BIZ Manager or similar communication gateway tools
* Experience of GXS BIZ Mapper or similar mapping tools
* Skills in mapping ANSI X12, EDIFACT, TRADACOMS, and XML data formats
* Strong analysis & troubleshooting skills of system issues, processes, data and EDI document related issues
* Knowledge of various communication protocols such as AS2/3, SFTP, FTP, HTTP, HTTPS, or SSL

Desired:

* Knowledge of Software Development Lifecycles, Technical Infrastructure, and IT Service Management
* Formal training or relevant experience in recognised methodologies that deliver business information via structured tools and solutions
* Experience of managing 3rd party suppliers, VANs and trading partners including associated administration
* Management and support of data/work flow administration and communication tools
