GDPR / DATA Privacy Project Manager required for a leading client in London

The Data Privacy Project Manager (“DPM”) will lead the roll-out of our clients data protection and privacy compliance framework to ensure that the client handles personal and other data safely and responsibly, and complies with all applicable privacy laws and regulations, including the European General Data Protection Regulation (“GDPR”).

Key responsibilities:

* Roll out and execute the company’s data privacy compliance action plan;
* Review and assess the action plan suggesting improvements where appropriate, to ensure continued compliance with European data privacy obligations, including GDPR;
* Implement and roll out of GDPR Accelerator software to support compliance framework;
* Collaborate with leadership to establish, refine and manage effective data protection and privacy governance activities;
* Implement and manage effective reporting processes and standards, including developing and implementing routine and ad hoc management and governance reporting and metrics;
* Inform and advise the Data Privacy Committee (“DPC”) and support the DPC to inform and advise the company, service providers and employees who carry out processing of personal data of their obligations with regards to data protection in Europe, including those resulting from GDPR, and other country-specific privacy regulations;
* Day to day primary point of contact for internal and external data privacy/GDPR enquiries;
* Liaise with the DPC, Divisional Privacy Leadership and Local Country Privacy Co-Ordinators on country specific requirements in addition to the central policies and guidelines;
* Support the business Divisions in creating and maintaining accurate and up-to-date records demonstrating compliance, and performing all other necessary duties in line with GDPR;
* Prepare training material and presentations and support the internal data privacy training programme;
* Provide advice where requested on Data Protection Impact Assessments, and validate those carried out by the business;
* Managing data subject requests for information, access, correction and deletion;
* Support the DPC to assess and manage risks associated with processing of personal data.


* strong project management and collaboration skills,
* good knowledge of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR),
* basic understanding of IT business processes and Information Security policies and procedures,
* strong communication skills both written and spoken with the ability to communicate effectively and translate privacy and compliance topics across a diverse sets of teams and regions,
* strong influencing skills and ability to communicate effectively with senior management,
* a high degree of integrity and credibility,
* fluent in English, another European language will be a plus,
