Programme Manager – Transformation

Our very well renowned and market leading client requires a Programme Manager, overseeing their Transformation project to join their team based near Birmingham, on a permanent basis. The Programme Manager is responsible for the development and ultimately implementation of all elements of the IT deliverables associated with major programs within the business

The responsibilities of the business system team fall into three main categories, New Business Support, Business Systems IT Support and Project Delivery.

The Programme Manager will have a good understanding of the normal processes required during the solution definition, selection of systems, resource planning and governance required to manage a wide range of IT work streams and their interfaces into the related business workstreams

Programme Manager – Transformation – Key Skills:

  • Prince2 Practitioner or equivalent
  • Experience of managing large scale IT programs
  • Proven track record in successfully implementing IS related ERP and equivalent programs to demanding timescales
  • Experience in ERP, WMS and TMS implementations ideally within a logistics environment
  • Experience of managing IT consultancies and systems integrators on complex programs
  • Strong experience of enabling business transformation through proper engagement processes
  • Demonstrable experience in the following:
  • IS program lifecycle principles
  • Requirements analysis and definition
  • Good commercial awareness and budget management skills
  • Writing business and IS reports and presentations
  • People Management (direct and indirect)
  • Proven ability in relationship building and influencing skills in a business and IS environment
  • Logistics industry experience
  • Awareness of the current trends in IS technology
  • Appreciation of the business objectives and key business drivers
  • Awareness of the current trends in SAP solution
  • Appreciation of the business objectives and key business drivers
  • Drinks Logistics industry experience desirable

Programme Manager – Transformation – Responsibilities:

  • The delivery of multi-million pound systems transformation programs across but not limited to ERP, WMS and TMS landscapes
  • Leading and controlling all program tasks and activities to meet program objectives including overseeing multiple systems projects simultaneously
  • Liaise with the Business Transformation Program Manager, business users, project sponsors and boards with regard to program communication and issue resolution as well as being the IT program representative responsible for the delivery on the program Steering Groups
  • Drive a new IT systems strategic direction with the appropriate selection and implementation of systems included in the transformation program in association with the Business Systems Commercial Manager
  • Drive and deliver the steps required for the selection process for any new IT systems as part of the program in association with the relevant BSM as lead and solution architects to provide the technical decisions
  • Managing all program IT resources, including all IT Project Managers assigned ensuring they deliver their projects within the overall program
  • Report on program process from an IT perspective to the Steering Committee including the realignment of plans, budgets and resources as required throughout the program
  • Create and maintain program plans and other documentation in line with company standards
  • Communicate at all levels (Written and Verbal), focussing on ensuring that board members and senior managers understand the current and planned future status of all program activities
  • Oversight of internal and external resources assigned to projects that are part of the overall program to achieve the business objectives
  • Solution Design – define and agree business requirements and options with key vendors including ensuring that commercial and legal obligations are adhered to
  • Management and delivery of change
  • Act on behalf of the business in dealing with third parties in relation to IS issues at program level
