Scrum Master required for a leading client in Corby

Job purpose

Reporting to the Head of Projects, as a Scrum Master you will be responsible for creating a fun and stimulating environment for a software development team. In which they can continually improve their ability to regularly deliver great quality, valuable software. The role sits across all business functions.

Key Responsibilities

* Provide coaching, facilitation and support to the team and the wider organisation
* Lead an agile, self-organising software product development team, empowering them to make great decisions in how they develop, test and release software
* Support the Product Owner in developing and managing the backlog, creating appropriate stories, grooming, and prioritisation
* Support the Product Owner and the Development team in delivering high quality software that delight customers
* Help the team to understand their process and achieve reliable, predictable delivery
* Work with colleagues to improve our ability to deliver software, reducing our time to market whilst improving the quality of software delivered
* Work with other Scrum Masters, to ensure that agile principles and practices are adhered to
* Contribute to the agile community internally (guilds, brown bags, etc.) and externally (meetups, conferences, etc.)
* Providing all support to the team using servant leadership style whenever possible and leading by example
* Run daily, weekly and monthly agile rituals effectively and efficiently
* Track work progress to identify blockages and developer divergence from allocated tasks
* Making sure that all information regarding changes in scope, delays and other detrimental events are communicated to those involved with the piece of work as soon as they arise
* Facilitating discussion, decision making and conflict resolution
* Assisting with internal and external communication, improving transparency and radiating information
* Facilitate team meetings including, preparation, moderation and post meeting follow ups
* Provide excellent verbal and written communications to ensure every piece of information gets to the team, related stakeholders and is delivered accurately and on time
* Provide reports on sprint progress, update team RAID logs, produce metrics and track progress of sprints
* Update scrum boards and, weekly status reports and team dashboards

Knowledge, Skills and Qualifications Required


* Experience working in a Digital focused environment
* Experience of facilitation and coaching of Agile, Software Product Development Team
* Can compare and contrast the differences between different Agile approaches. Helps the team evolve the process that is most suitable for them
* Understands the benefits of a wide range of Agile practices and can help the team adopt them as appropriate. Can help teams apply existing practices in a more Agile way, i.e. Collaborative Design over design upfront, testing right from the start
* Strong interpersonal & relationship building skills, able to work across functions, geographies and cultures


* Experience of working in a complex, international project environment
* Degree level education or equivalent
* Certified Scrum Master accreditations, e.g. Certified Scrum Master (CSM) or Professional Scrum Master I (PSM I)
* Experience working knowledge of several Agile frameworks (Scrum, Kanban, XP, LeSS, Lean Startup, Lean, etc)

* Experience working in a software development role(dev or test)
