Senior Security Administrator

Our global client, who are well renowned and highly respected within their industry, is looking for a Senior Security Administrator to join their team on a permanent basis in Glasgow. The Senior Security Administrator, under minimal supervision, to carry out security systems administration on all hosted and remotely managed data centers and public cloud.

Senior Security Administrator – Key Skills:

* Experience in the areas of change management, capacity planning, incident tracking and reporting, monitoring and alerting, system upgrades, backup and recovery required

* 10 years systems administration experience in operating systems desired
* 5 years or more of progressive experience in Security Administration, Systems Administration, and/or
* Fluent in administering the most widely adopted security infrastructure technologies and protecting the information assets of an enterprise through industry standard security configurations of the security infrastructure technologies.
* Knowledge of common L4-L7 protocols such as SSL, HTTP, DNS, SMTP and IPSec
* TCP/IP, computer networking, routing and switching, network protocols and packet analysis tools.
* Strong knowledge of Cloud Computing, systems administration and configuration management tools.
* Cloud Computing Security Architecture Design Expertise.
* Solid understanding of industry best practices and standards including ITIL.
* Strong verbal and written communication skills and the ability to work with a wide variety of individuals
* A high level of interpersonal and technical problem solving skills.
* The ability to deal with complex security configurations and specifications.
* Proficient in root-cause cause technical analysis and remediation.

Senior Security Administrator – Responsibilities:

* Intrusion Detection and Prevention Systems (IDPS)

* Anti-Malware

* Automated Identity Provisioning

* Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA)

* Virtual Private Networks (VPN)

* Encryption of data in-transit and at-rest

* Password Management

* Firewalls

* Content Filtering

* Security Event and Information Management (SEIM)

* Security Configuration Management

* Continuous Operational Security Monitoring

* Hardening through configuration tools like puppet/chef/ansible

* Documentation of Security Standards

* Develop/maintain scripts in python/perl/bash

* Provide consultancy services to other IT teams

* Develops procedures and training for Operations staff

* Provides problem resolution on systems for internal and external customers

* Performs other duties as requested

* Participation in a 24-hour on-call rotation
